Hyundai just unveiled some first Pictures of their new Luxury Sports Coupé Concept called HND-9. The whole model will be completely unveiled at the Seoul Motor Show on March 28th during the official press conference. More Details will be unveiled during the Show.

The HDN-9 represents an evolution of Hyundai’s fluidic sculpture design philosophy. The ninth concept model developed by Hyundai Motor Group’s R&D Center in Namyang, Korea, the HND-9 features sophisticated details in every design element, reinforcing a premium look.

In particular, the HND-9, with its dramatic long bonnet and wheelbase, is a modern reinterpretation of the elegant image of a classic premium sports coupe.

Fluidic yet sleek character lines that stretch from headlamp to trunk, voluminous, powerful car body and a striking, wide hexagonal-shaped radiator grille underscore the high performance image of the concept.

Furthermore, butterfly doors, spiral-shaped lines connected to the headlamp, softly glistening silver coating, dual twin exhaust and uniquely designed head and rear lamps give the car a sleek futuristic look.

As a rear-wheel drive, high-performance sports coupe concept, HND-9 is equipped with 3.3-litre turbo GDi petrol engine and eight-speed auto transmission, delivering maximum output of 370ps.

Interview: Audi's future Innovations

Hey Guys

At the Geneva Motor Show the other Roadtrippin' Bloggers and I had the Chance to Interview two influental People from Audi – Heinz Hollerweger – Head of Total Vehicle Development and Ricky Hudi, Head of Electrics / Electronics. The Interview was sheduled for 30 minutes and happend right after the first press conference at the first Press Day. Also Markus Keith, Head of Project Management Electrical / Electronic | Head of Project Audi connect, joined the nice Round, he's responsible for the Audi connect functions.

I won't write exactly what we asked, what they answered and bla, because thats boring! ;)

Summarized that's what they said about Audi today and the future.

One of the big new innovations in the future will be to connect the Car with the nature. Sounds weird?! No, it isn't. It simply means that the Car will recognize where you are driving and an assistance system will give you advices on your driving behaviour. For example the Car will be able to „read“ the typography and recommends you to take your foot off the gas pedal as you're close to a city with a strict speed limit to avoid unneccessary speeding, or when you're driving through a mountainous landscape etc. It's all future music, but soon Reality!

Another big thing in the future will be to use the energy better. Examples on this?
While the Audi Q7 is active there are currently 50 to 100 headunits running. Are they used ALL the time? No, not really. So the goal will be that just the headunits you currently need will be running, and the others will stay in stand-by, but nevertheless they will be ready in milliseconds. So no disadvantages for the driver and the passengers, but a not unmentionable reduction of running systems that all need power. And increase your fuel consumption.

But don't be frightened, all this will happen step by step. Up from 2015 the new Audi Q7 and the e-tron models will feature these innovations, and later all models.

Nice for the Digital Natives (and all the others, of course) will be a new Audi connect feature. Through the my.audi Account all your Pictures will be transferred to your Car. You went Sightseeing and snapped a nice Building or Restaurant? And now imagine, your going again to this certain city, yeeears later, and forgot where the Restaurant , where you ate suuuuch good Pasta, was located. But hey, you took the Photo, they were transferred to your Car and as you can transfer all your my.audi Data from Car to Car to Car these Pictures will be still available and you easily find this Restaurant again to enjoy the delicious Pasta again. Cool, eh? ;)
Another feature will be to Google your Destinations via Language authentication. But besides this there's another cool thing coming!

You all already know that you have a WiFi Hotspot (If not you now know it ;-)) coming with your MMI? Of course just when you're using it with a regular sized Sim-Card. The future (and soon to come) plans are to offer an “Online Package” right from the beginning, through Audi. It will cost a very low price a month and through it you will be able to surf all over Europe with no Roaming costs … arr, heaven! (I have no Information about any plans outside Europe, sorry!)

Cars at IBO Friedrichshafen Part 1

Hey Guys
Today the (local well-known) consumer fair IBO opens its doors in Friedrichshafen at the Lake of Constance. I already went to Hall A7 yesterday evening to shoot some Pictures of the nice Cars there. The US Cars and the few other Dealers are there as all the "real" car dealers have canceled their participation as the exhibition Management changed a lot this year ...

Tesla Loses Court Case Against Top Gear

A British court has dismissed claims by US car manufacturer, Tesla, that television show, Top Gear, damaged sales after a 2008 airing of the programme, which featured a Tesla Roadster vehicle.

In the programme in question, Clarkson and the Top Gear team were seen pushing a £92,000 Roadster off of the test track in order to charge the car’s battery.

After a three year battle with between the BB2 show and Tesla, The Court of appeal rejected their claim that Clarkson and co damaged the credibility of the company; a decision which is likely to cost Tesla more than they bargained for after being ordered to pay £100,000 in costs on account of the BBC.

In the opinion of court judge, Lord Justice Moore-Bick, the programme did not libel Tesla in any way.

In particular, Tesla complained about the commentary in which Clarkson provided during the show which included the lines:

"Although Tesla say it will do 200 miles, we worked out that on our track it would run out after just 55 miles and if it does run out, it is not a quick job to charge it up again."

In total, Tesla claimed that the scene featuring the vehicle cost them the sales of 200 Roadsters and the confidence of investors, costing the company a total of $171,000.

Thanks to the Roadster’s appearance on the television show, the California-based company said that pre-orders of the Model S have been far lower than expected, coupled with the fact that the Roadster has sold only 7% of what the Lotus Elite has sold in the UK – all of which they blame on Clarkson.

Moore-Bick, who sat alongside Lord Justice Muarice Kay and Lord Justice Rimer, said that:

“In my view the case pleaded in support of the claim for special damages is, to say the least, very thin on its own terms."

"Moreover, on the basis of the material currently before the court I do not think that there is any real prospect of Tesla's being able to demonstrate at trial that it has suffered any quantifiable loss by reason of any of the actionable statements."

Although there is yet to be any news from Clarkson himself, Andy Wilman, the executive producer of Top Gear, said:

"I am pleased that the appeal court has upheld the previous ruling and the case has been struck out. I'd also like to apologise to the judges for making them have to watch so much Top Gear."

Despite Top Gear successfully having to avoid damages this time, the programme is no stranger to controversy, alongside Clarkson, who has faced public criticism many times during his tenor with the programme.

With that in mind, Tesla are also facing an ensuing battle with New York Times journalist, John M Broder, after he wrote an unflattering review of the Tesla Model S.

Though there have been no claims against the cars safety, merely its battery, Tesla have been found making a tit-for-tat argument over Twitter.

There is some good news circulating for the company however, as the 2013 Tesla Model S has been used in a viral video by Firefighters; demonstrating the ripping apart of the vehicle using jaws of life.

Although many people don’t yet fully understand the safety features of many electric cars, it is worth considering the safety of all vehicles, and in winter, even buying safety tyres from accredited companies such as Click on Tyres.

Suzuki Driving Xperience 2013 at the Sachsenring

On Saturday I've joined the Suzuki Driving Xperience at the Sachenring in Oberlungwitz, Germany. As you know I already had a Driver Safety Training back in August with Mercedes-Benz in Groß Dölln, but the SDX was more Sporty and we even had the chance to drive the Circuit B OMEGA-circuit with a length of 2.100 km (1.304 mi) for about an hour with the Swifties on our own - heaven! This really awakened my racing genes :)

But for now here most of the Picutres I've taken during the Day, a full Video (or two..) and a more detailed report on what we've done in all these Pics soon!
